“ I am attaching my xsl templates to show you how powerful your tool has become for me ...

I estimated my last project at 180 hours of development, and with your tool, I cut almost 90 hours of work!

With your tool, we are drastically reducing the amount of code required to be hand written. One of the approaches that has made LatticeFramework really powerful is that we are utilizing partial classes. By putting any additional custom code for an entity into a separate file, changes to the domain model is easily replicated throughout the application without over-writing existing files of manually merging.

Each project iteration makes the templates even stronger and more robust.. ”

“ LatticeFramework Studio is a fantastic rapid development tool. We used it to create a complex data-centric ExtJS web application which combined a series of controls like grids and forms. We were able to generate 85% of our code in record speeds. The LatticeSoft team were quick to respond in assisting us generate some complex templates which are now avaiable to you. More importantly the cost of the tool pays for itself in the first use when you calculate how many resources and time it would take to generate the code manually. Don't just take my word for it. Try it for free today and see for your self. ”

“At the USC Keck School of Medicine we are deploying rich internet applications (RIA) with ExtJS and prior to using LatticeFramework Studio we had to develop a lot of the grid controls manually. With LatticeFramework Studio we have been able to rapidly deploy and update functionality faster than ever before, thus increasing adoption of our applications. It is a wonderful product that works reliably and saves a ton of time!”

“ As a contract RAD developer, I am often working to tight deadlines but cannot afford to compromise on the quality of the solutions I deliver. Several years ago I started using code generation techniques to speed up the development process and implemented them very effectively by writing my own tools specific to the technology involved. With database projects, the benefits of code generation increase depending on the number of code layers you implement it for. In the ideal situation, after the base tables and views have been created you generate the relevant stored procedures and any triggers and audit tables for security logging, followed by business object and presentation layer code. Not only do you save a lot of time by not having to type in the code, but also you eliminate the chances of typing database object names incorrectly as they are all generated and this cuts down on the likelyhood of bugs. The code ends up being created in a consistent way with whatever standards you have adopted for all developers which makes on-going support easier as the code is more predictable.

I have looked at various tools to do this and have found that the XML/XSLT approach used by Lattice Framework Studio is very powerful and flexible. Once the database schema metadata has been extracted, the studio allows you work with your templates and the generated code untill the output is as you want it, before finally applying it to the database or front-end development environment. If you develop in Visual Studio, you can also debug the templates in the IDE in case of any problems.

The support from Lattice is excellent and they are also open to new ideas on how the application can be improved even further. All in all, a very useful tool for speeding up the development process. ”
